| Joel Blackwell conducted focus groups in nine states asking corporate staff and association members why they don't write letters, make phone calls, speak in person and give money to politicians. From this research he developed the book, Personal Political Power, training, motivation video and other materials designed to energize volunteer advocates. He also has interviewed more than 500 politicians and their staff to find out how they want to be lobbied and what works to influence them. Each year he sits with volunteer advocates hundreds of times as they lobby to observe and critique the process, searching for the best techniques. Then in training seminars he helps advocates overcome their fears and increase their skills. He also consults with associations and corporations to develop focused grassroots operations and recruit, motivate and activate volunteer advocates. |
